Yeah! So up for the Alps - I'm thinking, do the drive down and take bikes, climbing gear, tent etc. Would be a great road trip. Only thing is, July is pretty busy for me... Already got a week on Mull that month. Would mid to late August work at all?

I'm not sure about what the weather's doing then but I know Dave Jones mentioned that July is no good for him either. Wait and see how things pan out for other folk

I spoke to Chris on Friday night who is talking about going out the first two weeks in July. I'd defo be up for filling a car. I checked the Dover Calais route: We can book car (with 3/4 passengers) on the ferry (going and coming back around about the first 2 weeks in July) for £90 in total (which seems pretty good to me). I defo be up for campsite action on account of cost and craic. What we think??

Can't do it. Already got a trip to Mull booked for 1st full week of July. End of August is best for me... May have to be a separate trip if dates don't match up.

Could be tempted. What are folks thinking about getting up to? Boating? Climbing? Would love to get in some nice alpine ridges at some point....

Dougie, yeh, there has been talk of alpine ridges - maybe looking at doing long routes that aren't necessarily technically diffcultbut get us out there.

I think the thing would be to pick a place where we can do whatever - so if folk want to bike, climb, canoe or walk it doesn't matter - just get a base that we can wok from. From speaking to folk it seems to be leaning toward the second half of July.
